Long overdue update

Looking backwards / looking forward
First off - happy new year to all! 2007 was a year of many changes - I made the move and have (more or less) settled. An exciting year with many highs and a couple of lows. 2008 will present some exciting new challenges - bring 'em on! |

Big changes and temporary access issues
I have moved continent and am now back on the old continent! Due to the move, I haven't really been on LJ and will not have great access for the next two weeks or so, but will resume regular coverage as soon as I am set up! |

Carpets match the drapes
Help me out, please - a couple of days ago someone on my f-list (or possibly in a community) put up an image (b&w) with something like "at least now the drapes match the carpet" written on it - anyone know where I can find it? |

Second thoughts / doubts
I am having serious second thoughts about uprooting and moving again, the fact that three headhunters are screaming "more money" and "loads of opportunities" (without my soliciting their opinions) does not help... I thought that doing this on a six month plateau would make it less arduous, the opposite seems to be true, I have too much time to realise what I'm giving up and too much time for doubts to come creeping in... Shit! This is so unlike me! |

Finally, some progress
... I have finally decided what I want to do. I have two very good offers and am just about to close the deal on one of them. The move is for mid year next year, but all involved are keen to sign it this week - exciting times! |

Round and round and round we go
Heck, its months later and I haven't really progressed in my decision making. After spending three very stresfull months debating and exploring the options, I took a couple of weeks off and went on a trip - bliss! Two weeks after coming back I'm onto it again, still can't make up my mind but I've explored all three options and things are starting to take shape. Stay tuned... |

Too young for a midlife crisis...
...yet, all the signs are there. I feel like it is change for a change of scenery. I have explored the options. They are(in order of preference (on average, it changes)): 1. settling on a different continent (really settling, buying a house, etc), 2. making a last "money move" (which can be to either of two different continents), or 3. staying where I am now and/or moving to a competitor here, or just go with the flow - life is pretty good as it is. I seem to osscilate between the first and the two options of the second, then think that I should just leave things as they are. I shouldn't be so darn confused! It feels like my brain is fried. Any advice? |

Back from Europe

...I always post on Mondays? Wow, what a week-end. Party after party, Christmas do's, leaving do's, general festivities and fun for all. I have almost managed to stay out of trouble, but faltered dismally on the weekend. It involves beer, Jaegermeister and two women. A perfect evening? |
